It is with mixed emotions that I write to you this evening to inform you that I have been selected to take on the role as principal of Alder Creek Elementary School in Folsom, beginning in January 2024. Until then, I will remain fully invested in serving the Empire Oaks community. I want to express my deep gratitude and appreciation for you - the families and community of Empire Oaks who make up the heart of Empire Oaks Elementary. While I am excited about this new opportunity, I will miss our students and families immensely.
Change is difficult for many of us, and it will take all of us varying amounts of time to process and adjust. I assure you that I will use the remaining months of my tenure here to work closely with staff and students to maintain a high standard of forward progress.
The announcement of an Interim Principal will be made in the upcoming weeks and the District will keep the Empire Oaks community informed. I am confident that the District will find a strong fit for this exceptional school community; someone who can carry our momentum and build on the strengths we’ve developed together these past five years.
I want to thank you for your support and partnership throughout my tenure here. Again, the students, families, and the warm sense of community are what make Empire Oaks such a special place.
